You might find it helpful to think in terms of your plan as providing a route-map for the reader of your report. Your outline should give: • A clear plan of your report’s structure and contents, including the probable sections, subsections, references and appendixes, with their titles; • One or two sentences or bullet points showing what you intend to discuss under each of the various sections and subsections headings; • What you intend to put into the appendixes; Mark allocation Your tutor will be looking for: Meaningful titles for the sections of the report. (5 marks) A clear indication that all the areas required for the report will be covered. (5 marks) Logical order: It should be possible to see the ‘story’ that students are telling simply by looking at the titles of the sections, subsections and appendixes. (5 marks) A match between the content and the titles: One or two sentences or bullet points about what you intend to discuss under each of the various section and subsection headings.
